Venom is one of Marvel's greatest super villains of all time, ranking consistently in the top thirty of greatest super villain polls. Venom was in print as early as 1984 and is a great story of an idea that Marvel actually purchased from a fan. Venom can sometimes be a hard villain to define for the casual Spiderman fan. He was originally a costume. A costume that was alive and trying to overtake Spiderman entirely!
